The annual summer San Saba Tennis Association Junior Tennis Tournament was held on June 24 - 25. We had 74 entries for the tournament ranging in age from eight to 18 years old. We had players from the following towns: San Saba, Fredericksburg, Mason, Brady, Lampasas, Richland Springs, Lometa, and Lohn. These kids braved the hot temperatures of around 104 degrees to play some very competitive tennis matches. Coach David Bourke and Coach Ralph Cox would like to thank all the support from the players and their parents for coming out to the tournament. A special thanks to Christi Mays for all the hard work she put into developing the tennis website (sansabatennis.org) which really helps us in getting entries online and payment of entries online. Also, Christi was able to have the draws posted on the website so the players were able to get there times that they played on Friday and Saturday. We encourage everyone to go to the website. There is information on adult play and junior play nights each week. Also if you want to become a member of the San Saba Tennis Association and / or donate to the association, you can do that online. We are also selling pavers to be placed down at the new courts. So if you want to honor someone that has played tennis at San Saba, this would be a great way to do it.
