The recently retired teachers of Richland Springs met together at Hacienda Leon for a birthday celebration in honor of Elizabeth Johnson. It was a happy, and just a tad rowdy at times, group of ladies. I can’t say I was prepared for the loud birthday song. I guarantee Elizabeth was a little daunted by the giant sombrero. One of the good things about teaching is you are usually ready for shifts around you. Several of us watched a nearby table get some giant blue drinks. We were told it is called Adios Madre and contains a multitude of alcohols that should put the drinker on the do not drive list. None of us even attempted to try it. We stuck to our tea and soft drinks.
