Local, natives, and friends attend Kentucky Derby

Students at San Saba Elementary have been working on earning miles and running a marathon since August 2023. Marathons are reached by kids finishing miles in achievable increments, or completing minutes of heartpumping activity. All grade levels from PreK-3 to 4th grade participate every Monday, and currently our little dillos have earned 6,708 miles. We have some dedicated dillos who choose to spend a portion of their Free Fun Thursday running to earn an extra mile or two. I am very proud of their hard work and determination to earn a Marathon!

Your San Saba County Commissioners met this past Monday, May 13th, on your behalf. They meet approximately every two weeks to serve you, their constituents. They start out by praying that God would give them wisdom as they make decisions that will affect San Saba County.

The local Rotary Club of San Saba will hold its 42nd annual Honor Student Banquet to recognize academically high-achieving students from Cherokee, Richland Springs, and San Saba ISDs. All recognized students and their parents will be invited to attend on May,16th 2024, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the San Saba Civic Center.

Taylor Wise, San Saba, Texas, is a new junior member of the American Angus Association, reports Mark McCully, CEO of the national organization with headquarters in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Junior members of the Association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in Association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events.
