What an amazing week we had here in San Saba as volunteers came together to remodel a home for Yolanda Morales and her three boys: Christian, Diego, and Santiago. The project started Sunday, June 9th, with our “demo” day, and ended Saturday evening, June 15th, with the big reveal of a furnished home.
This is a huge project that requires the help of many volunteers, with all skill levels. We had people from Cherokee, Richland Springs, San Saba, Lampasas, Llano, and even Australia (soon to be living there) come together to put sweat equity into this home.
Churches, restaurants, and organizations from all over our county provided meals, local businesses donated materials and labor, and families, young and old, came together to work hard for one week; and the end results were nothing short of a testimony of what God can do with willing helpers who work together for the good.
It was a beautiful week filled with challenges, but ultimately immense joy, at seeing the surprise on the Morales’ faces when they walked into a completely renovated home.
We are truly blessed to live in a generous community that yearly rallies around one family to show them the love of Christ. Your donations of money, time, supplies, food, and support are much appreciated and know that without you, this would not be possible.
Thank you to everyone for their prayers and support on this project. We thank God for each one of you!
